What is the event about?

CFA Institute Research Challenge Kick-off Event cum Training Day

Do not miss your chance to learn how to write a research report! There will also be the announcement of the listed company for research for the Research Challenge and also the rules of the Challenge. Only 50 slots available!

Who can come: Anyone who is interested in learning how to write a research report or anyone who is interested in taking part in the CFA competition

CFA Institute Research Challenge Competition

You will get to write a research report and present your findings!

Who can join the challenge: Anyone interested in gaining exposure and experience in writing an equity research report. (Please confirm your eligibility in the rules and regulations section at the webpage given below before signing up.)

*If the student who has participated in the previous university round and did not reach the local finals, he/she is eligible to participate this year.

What are the details?

CFA Institute Research Challenge Kick-off Event cum Training Day

Date: 21 September 2011, Wednesday

Time: 6.30pm to 10.00pm

Venue: STI Auditorium, Capital Tower 168 Robinson Rd

NTU Preliminary Rounds

22nd September: Release of competition details to teams
12th October: Submission deadline for report
20th October: Release of top 6 teams results
28th October: NTU round finals

Prizes

Cash prizes to be won at the NTU round!

The winning team will also get to represent NTU in the Local Finals and stand a chance to travel to the regional and global finals with all expenses paid!

Time: 9:00am to 2:00pm

FAQ
1. For the local rounds, can we approach any university professor to guide us as long as he/she is from NTU?
Yes, each team should be mentored by a university professor.

2. Can more than two teams seek the same professor?
CFA Institute does not set any rules for university-level of competition. However, we would advise that each team have their own advisor. This will minimise any potential conflict of interest. Also, there is a risk that the professor could mix up the research if there are multiple teams.

3. Will it be fine if the teams do not seek help from any faculty advisor at all?
No, it is required that each team should be mentored by a school faculty advisor.

4. For the local finals, will CFA be assigning industry mentors to finalists?
Yes, we will assign CFA Charter holders to teams joining the finals.
