What is CFA - UIRC about?

Participating teams will be issued a company to research on, and given one week to write their research report. Top six teams will be chosen to present to the judges, from which two teams will be chosen to represent NTU in the Singapore finals.

There are three segments in this competition; the Preliminary round, the NTU Final round and the Singapore Finals.

The flow of the competition is as follows:

Preliminary round:

· Participating teams will be issued a company to research on, and given one week to write their research report.

· Reports will be graded by a judge to identify the top 6 teams.

NTU Final round:

· The top 6 teams will be invited to make a 10 minutes presentation plus 10 minutes of Q&A session by the judges.

· The top two teams will be identified and represent NTU in the finals.

Singapore Finals:

· Top two teams will compete with teams from other universities to be the Singapore champions.

Prizes

Win cash prizes of up to $600 and CFA scholarships! Members of shortlisted teams will also receive a certificate issued by CFA.

Eligibility

All undergraduate and postgraduate students (except those who worked as a full-time research analyst) from all faculties are welcome!

Each team is recommended to have at least one student equipped with strong accounting background.

*Students may not be CFA charter holders or past participants of the local Challenge in any country, and may not have been or currently employed in a role whose primary duty involves fundamental company analysis with the exception of students who have had internship in that function for six months or less.

1) CFA URIC Training Day: Sep 19, 10:30-3:30pm

2) Registration deadline: Oct 8, 12:00 noon

3) Issuing of company to research on: Oct 8, 12:00 noon

4) Report submission: Oct 15, 12:00 noon

5) Notification to top 6 teams: Oct 20, 12:00 noon

6) Presentation & Selection of top 2 teams: Oct 24, 9:00-12:30pm

7) Singapore Finals: Dec 12, 09:30-1:50pm
